May 31-June 6 • Commuter Challenge

Looking to give your commute a makeover?
Try on your new look with the Commuter Challenge.

The Commuter Challenge is a national sustainable transportation event celebrated during Environment Week. The event is a friendly competition between workplaces and schools to encourage individuals to walk, cycle, carpool or take transit on their daily commute. Prizes are awarded to Workplaces with the highest participation rates. The main objective of the promotion is to highlight the importance of green and active commuting in creating healthy communities through opportunities for increased physical activity and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Resource Conservation Manitoba (RCM), a non-profit centre for applied sustainability. We have coordinated the Commuter Challenge in Winnipeg for the last ten years with the support of a committee of Planning Partners representing community groups, environmental organizations, health and wellness advocates, and civic and provincial government.
